Bruce Potter   

EVP, Chief Operating Officer

Bruce Potter began his career at Salem Five in 1996 as vice president, credit administration, and since then has held a number of high-ranking positions. In July 2013, Potter was elevated to the role of executive vice president, with oversight for enterprise risk management, legal, internal audit and compliance, as well as an enhanced role in business line management and strategic planning. In May 2016, Potter was promoted to  Chief Operating Officer.

Potter began his career at Salem Five in 1996 as vice president, underwriting manager. Prior to that, Potter was senior vice president at Chaston Associates, Inc., an independent loan review firm specializing in credit risk management and compliance. He also served as a national bank examiner in the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency within the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

A graduate of Salem State University, Potter has more than 30 years of experience in financial industry. Potter resides in Danvers with his wife Anita and his two daughters, Alexa and Isabelle. Potter is an executive board member at Essex Agriculture Society - Topsfield Fair as well as an executive member of the Salem State University Foundation Board.
